Fees are indicative totals for the full course for the 2026 session, converted to rupees. Exchange rates change, so we confirm the exact amount in writing before you apply. “New” marks universities founded in 2016 or later, which do not yet have a long FMGE track record. Kyrgyz totals include an estimated half-year fee for the internship year, which universities there quote separately.

Check these before you choose any university

If a university fails even one of these, the degree may not let you practise in India. We check every university against this list.

  • NEET

    Qualify NEET first

Required for every Indian student studying medicine abroad. The score is valid for 3 years.

  • 54 mo

    Minimum course length

At least 54 months of study, all at one university. Changing country or university midway can disqualify you.

  • 12 mo

    Internship abroad

A 12-month internship at the same university where you studied.

  • EN

    English medium

The whole course must be taught in English, with real clinical training. NMC has warned about universities where it isn't.

  • Lic.

    Licence in that country

You must be eligible to register as a doctor in the country where you studied.

  • FMGE

    Exam & internship in India

Clear FMGE (NExT once it applies to foreign graduates), then complete a 12-month internship in India.

Rules are set by the National Medical Commission and can change. Always check the latest notices at nmc.org.in.

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

Is an MBBS from Russia or Central Asia valid in India?

Yes, if the student meets every NMC rule: NEET qualification, at least 54 months of study and a 12-month internship at one university, English medium, and eligibility for a licence in that country. After returning, the student must clear FMGE and complete a 12-month internship in India.

Can my child go without qualifying NEET?

No. Without a NEET qualification, a student cannot appear for FMGE or register as a doctor in India, so we do not process admissions without it.

What is the total cost?

For the full course including tuition and hostel, about ₹23.9–46.7 lakh in Russia, ₹21.3–34.3 lakh in Kyrgyzstan, ₹22.7–32.5 lakh in Uzbekistan, ₹32.8–48.5 lakh in Kazakhstan. Food and personal expenses are extra. We give you an exact, itemised figure for your chosen university before you apply.

When should we apply?

Most universities have one intake in September. Applications usually start after NEET results in June. Some universities in Kyrgyzstan also have a February intake.

Is Indian food available?

Many universities with large numbers of Indian students have an Indian mess, usually at extra cost, and students can also cook in the hostel. We tell you what is available at each university.

Can we take an education loan?

Yes. Many banks and NBFCs offer education loans for MBBS abroad. We help with the admission letter, fee structure and documents the lender asks for.
