Two ways into an MD or MS seat

  1. MCC

All India Quota, deemed and central universities

MCC fills 50% of PG seats in every state government college, all PG seats in deemed universities, and seats in central institutions. No domicile is needed. In 2026, 28,723 candidates were offered seats in Round 1.

  2. State

    State quota and private colleges

Each state fills the other 50% of its government PG seats, and its private college seats, through its own counselling. Most states give priority to candidates who did MBBS in the state or hold its domicile, and many add a service bond.

You can register for MCC and your state's counselling in the same year. Most candidates should: it gives you more rounds and more seats to try for.

Common questions

What is the NEET PG 2026 qualifying cut-off?

262 out of 720 (50th percentile) for General and EWS, 244 (45th percentile) for General PwBD, and 226 (40th percentile) for SC, ST and OBC candidates, including their PwBD candidates.

Can I apply in both MCC and state PG counselling?

Yes. MCC covers the 50% All India Quota, deemed universities and central institutions; your state covers the other 50% of government seats and its private colleges. Read each authority's rules on resigning a seat before you join one.

Can a foreign medical graduate take NEET PG?

Yes, after clearing FMGE and completing the 12-month internship in India, with registration from NMC or a State Medical Council.

Do you sell management or NRI PG seats?

No. Every admission we help with goes through MCC or state counselling. Anyone promising a guaranteed PG seat for a payment is a red flag.
