How admission works

• All seats: Through Tamil Nadu state counselling, run by Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Chennai. State counselling fills the government quota, management quota and NRI seats in private colleges.
• Students from other states: Self-financing colleges split seats 65% govt quota / 35% management (50:50 in minority colleges). Govt-quota seats are TN-only; management-quota seats are open to all-India candidates (other-board candidates need an eligibility certificate from TN Dr MGR Medical University). NRI seats are up to 15% of management seats.
