AYUSH counselling 2026 (AACCC and states)
Round dates, fees, exit rules and documents for BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BSMS, from the official notices.
Right now (28 October 2026): AACCC Round 3 reporting runs until 31 October, 5 PM. Stray Vacancy Round I registration opens 3 November and allows fresh registration. Round 3 and both stray rounds have no free exit: if you take a seat and leave, you lose your deposit and can't join any AYUSH counselling this year, central or state.
BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BSMS seats are filled through two systems, both on your NEET UG 2026 rank: AACCC (the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee) for the national seats, and your state's AYUSH counselling for state-quota and private college seats. Here is how each works this year, with every rule linked to the official notice.
What AACCC fills
- 15% All India Quota seats in government and government-aided BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BSMS colleges in every state.
- 100% of seats at all AYUSH deemed universities, BHU Varanasi (BAMS), ITRA Jamnagar, NIA Jaipur, NIA Panchkula, NIH Kolkata (BHMS) and NIS Chennai (BSMS).
- 50% of seats at AIIA Goa, NEIAFMR Pasighat, AMU Aligarh (BUMS) and NEIA&H Shillong.
Not through AACCC: AIQ seats in private AYUSH colleges (your state fills them), and central-government nominee and foreign-national seats. Only candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 can register. Source: AACCC UG Information Bulletin 2026-27.

Fees and security deposit
| Seats you apply for | Registration fee (non-refundable) | Security deposit (refundable) | You pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Govt, govt-aided, central university, national institute | ₹1,000 (₹500 SC/ST/PwBD) | ₹20,000 | ₹21,000 (₹20,500) |
| Deemed university (alone or with the above) | ₹5,000 | ₹50,000 | ₹55,000 |
- If you choose both government and deemed seats, you pay only the deemed amount, ₹55,000.
- The deposit comes back only after all AACCC rounds, to the same account or card you paid from. Candidates who get no seat are refunded.
- Changing your counselling type later means paying again, and both payments can be forfeited. The bulletin's own example: ₹21,000 + ₹55,000 = ₹76,000 lost.
Exit and upgrade rules: where families lose money
- Round 1: free exit until the Round 2 result. Joined candidates can opt for an upgrade in Round 2.
- Round 2: not joining your allotted or upgraded seat forfeits your fee. You can still take part in later rounds by paying again (Round 2 notice).
- Leaving a Round 1 or 2 seat later: up to 3 days before Round 3, you lose the fee but can come back. From then until the Round 3 result, you lose the fee and AACCC eligibility but keep state counselling. After the Round 3 result, you are out of all AYUSH UG counselling this year.
- Round 3 and stray rounds: no free exit. Not joining or withdrawing forfeits the deposit and bars you from every central and state AYUSH counselling; AACCC sends the names to the states.
- A Round 3 AACCC seat cancels any state seat you hold (Round 3 reporting rules).
- Everything is online: upgrades need an online relieving letter, and resignations must be processed online by the college. AACCC does not accept offline resignations (AACCC notice).
- This year AACCC allowed a one-time withdrawal for Round 1 and 2 joiners until 4 PM on 28 October 2026 (notice).
Documents for reporting
AACCC's list: the online allotment letter; NEET UG 2026 admit card and score card; Class 10 and 12 certificates and marksheets; date-of-birth proof; 8 passport photos; ID proof; a medical fitness certificate (Annexure V); a transfer certificate; and, if they apply, SC/ST, OBC-NCL or EWS certificates in the central format (OBC and EWS issued on or after 1 April 2026) and a PwBD certificate from a designated board. Bring originals and two attested sets of copies. BSMS needs Tamil and BUMS needs Urdu, Arabic or Persian in Class 10 or 12, or study of the language in first year.
