Every point below links to its official source.
Key facts
- To qualify for MBBS admission, General and EWS candidates need marks at the 50th percentile, SC/ST/OBC candidates at the 40th, and PwBD candidates at the 45th (UR/EWS) or 40th (SC/ST/OBC-NCL). [1]
- The percentile is worked out from the highest marks in the All India common merit list. The Central Government, with NMC, can lower it if too few candidates qualify, but only for that year. [1]
- NEET UG 2026 was held again on 21 June 2026 after the 3 May 2026 exam was cancelled, and the result was declared on 16 July 2026. [2]

- Of 22,79,743 registered candidates, 19,99,895 appeared and 11,21,185 qualified in NEET UG 2026. [2]
